Unusable on Seagate Personal Cloud since 0.9.15.6

Hi Guys, really need some assistance with this, im totally at my wits end trying to get this working again on my Personal Cloud 3Tb. Has been working perfectly for months but noticed recently that the Plex server would stop calling for metadata updates from any target server and just leave content with no Metadata, although the content would still play.

We changed ISP's recently and with the new router came a new PIP address range which wrecked my home network setup, I reset everything and reinstalled all Plex software on the NAS and now the server wont sign on and just states "there is an unclaimed server" with no option to claim it. The server also states that there is an update available although it already shows the latest version, trying to manually install makes no difference either.

Really need some guidance on this if anyone can help?

Manual Update File

Can someone please help with my Seaget NAS. When I go onto my Plex media server it says there is a manual update. So I looked on the Plex NAS compatibility list and see that the Seagate NAS 2 bay has a ARMv7 processor. So i downloaded this latest update off the downloads page but it is a SPK file. When I follow the direction for manual update I locate the file and select it but my App Manager on my NAS says that it must be a RBW file. I select it anyway but it fails. Is there a RBW file or am I doing something wrong here. Thanks......

Removing "Plex Versions" folder

So I created a library, added some media, optimized, moved the media to a new folder now want to delete the original.

I can't do it as the folder "owner" is "unix users\root". The Seasgate PersonalCloud I own appears to have SSH disabled so has anyone found a way to delete these folders. I really do not want to do a factory reset for what appears to be a simple permissions issue.

I assume plex has root permissions somehow so doing it through the gui would be acceptable, but trying to add the folder back yields and error.

Any ideas?

Issues after updating NAS firmware

After updating my Seagate 3TB NAS to the latest firmware a couple of months ago I have had issues with Plex. I can still access and play all media that was available prior to the update with my Roku. The issue is that if I put new media in the folder it doesn't find it. If I try ago access it through my web browser I get the following error "can't access at 192.168.0.6:10000/web". If I try and access the server through he Plex website it will not find my NAS server.

Any ideas short of removing all my media and starting over from scratch?

I have been running the Plex app on my Seagate personal cloud. Recently, i have to change the router. Everything looked fine yesterday. However, for some reason, I can no longer access my Plex web page using the app on the Seagate NAS. I keep getting the webpage is not available when I click on the Plex app from my dashboard. Everything seems okay as the Roku is still able to connect.

Can anyone help?

Even though I install the updates when the settings indicate a new version is available after installing the server settings menu tells me that there is a new version that needs to be installed even though the version listed is the latest version available on the website. I have Plex Pass and a 4T Seagate Personal Cloud drive.

Well the Seagate forums are 'non-existent' so I hope to get help here.
I recently purchased a Seagate Central STCG3000100 ' with the intent of using it with plex. I put all my media on the device, and although I can run PLEX on my PC and access my video/movies etc, I dont want to use my PC as the server. I want to run PLEX on the Seagate device. Anyone know of this is even possible? I hope someone has already done this and can help. I have researched and cant find any info on how to do it, or if it is even possible.
Thanks

Hi Guys, need to ask for your assistance:

NAS: Seagate Personal CLoud 3TB 1-Bay
HTPC: Intel Core2Duo 2.6Ghz, 4GB of RAM etc etc
Device: Apple iPad 3
Router: Billion 400G Wireless G

All streaming except HD (720p or 1080p) works perfectly to the HTPC, the HD content stutters really badly, completely unwatchable.

The iPad, same network, works perfectly, what am I doing wrong, the HTPC is connected to the NAS on the network directly and the iPad is connecting over an inferior wireless connection.

Any suggestions?

Automatic Startup Disabled (Seagate Personal Cloud)

After updating Plex Media Server App for Seagate Personal Cloud to version 0.9.12.11.1406-8403350, the App Manager console screen now displays the message "Automatic startup has been disabled for this app. Confirm that the app is compatible with the device's firmware".

As a result the Plex Media Server no longer auto-restarts after a power failure (which causes a restart of the Seagate NAS).

Adding files to the Plex Plugins folder on Seagate Personal Cloud

I installed the Plex app via the App Manager on the Seagate Personal Cloud admin panel. I've opened the app via the App Manager on my MacBook Pro & successfully linked video files that were stored on my Personal Cloud & am able to play them on my TV (Sony Bravia with a Plex app) and my iPhone.

There are a few channels I'd like to add as well. I downloaded the ".bundle" containers, but can't figure out where on the Personal Cloud to deposit them. It says across the web to "add them to your Plex Plugins folder"...but I'm totally unable to find the Plex Plugins folder via Finder on my Mac.

Can someone help me please?

*note: i know there are a couple other threads basically asking the same question. I did read through them, but didn't see an answer that was definitive.

Thanks much!

Seagate Personal Cloud Support For Plex

It has been over a month since Seagate debuted their new NAS drive at CES, I was pretty psyched when I heard there were plans to support plex, Not everyone shares my enthusiasm as this product has been released over a month ago and information about is it very limited, that's why I came here to get some answers.

1. So plex is going to support it, does this mean the device will be able to run plex media server on it's own without the need for a computer running it?

2. Will it be able to transcode at all? as I heard this would be limited

3. Is anyone aware of the physical specs of the Seagate Personal cloud, such as ram and processor?

-Thank You-

Using my Itunes and Vudu movies on Plex server

Greetings,
I've poke around and I think i know the answer to my question but i'm looking to get my Itunes purchased movies and my purchased Vudu movies onto my seagate PC / Plex server so i can watch them via Fire TV on my TV. I know how to get the itunes files to where they need to be, but they won't play (i suspect due to DRM) however the Vudu to go app has a download feature but the files are not in any known format to use with out the vudu to go app.
I think the answer is I can't, with out stripping DRM from Itunes movies (been unsuccessful so fare using Aimersoft Video Converter Ultimate and tried Pavtube ChewTune, both paid for software.)
I'm going to guess Itunes and Vudu need an app to run on the NAS/Plex server for this to work unless someone has found a work around, besides buying apple tv and vudu tv. I like my Fire TV and adding more freaking devices is just a PITA. I have no issues with plex running the music, DRM stripped easily, but the videos (which is what i wanted the most) i can not get to work.
Any creative ideas or other known apps that would work on seagate personal cloud and or Plex server running on it?
Thanks

How to move metadata & covers over from SG 2-bay to SG 6-bay?

$

Hi there,

I'm aware there is a guide to do that at this address, however it has not worked for me so far, so i'm wondering if there was an issue proper to Seagate blocking this from working or something of the kind. Note will custom titles and modifications i've made to artists names seems to have been kept, no custom cover has been (pretty obvious on an audiobooks library).

Here's how I proceeded:
- Copied all the library data over from 1 NAS to 2nd, same folder & same share
- Deactivated the Emptying of Trash on source server
- I tarballed in my home dir the folder /media/internal_1/rainbow/plexmediaserver-xxxx.data/plex_conf/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server
- Transferred it to my new NAS on which I've setup a raw plex app (not connected to any account yet) which I then stopped
- Expanded my tar in the very same directory, in which I replaced the Plug_ins dir with the one from the fresh setup
- Made sure all folders and files are owned by root - was like this on previous NAS.
- Rebooted the NAS
- Started Plex again
- Plex detects a new server is available, and shows me the contents with already missing covers behind the terms, before asking me to login.
- From here i've tried different things from going with or closing down the page asking to review your libraries info and scan them in the local app or in the webapp... the custom covers are missing and I haven't found a way to get them back.

Any help would be much appreciated... what am I doing wrong?
Can it be because the path is exactly the same on the new NAS than on the old?

Cheers~
L
