Currently, launching Plex from within my Seagate Personal Cloud and from my ROKU device is problematic; sometimes I can Launch and sometimes I can not. When I can't launch from the Personal Cloud, I get the message that Internet Explorer could not open the PMS (IP Address was correct). When 'failing to launch' using ROKU I get the message "No Server can be found. HOWEVER, Recently, after a long period of being unable to launch, I went into the Apps-Manager-App within the Personal Cloud and noted that Plex was running. As I could not launch it, I decided to STOP Plex. I then restarted it. This simple process (unexpectedly) allowed me to Launch Plex -- using the Plex Icon within the Personal Cloud. Also, for the first time, I could launch Plex from my Roku-device, and display some pictures on my TV. YESTERDAY I was again unable to Launch, and STOP and RESTARTING Plex did not help. TODAY, however, I am once again ABLE to Launch Plex by STOPPING and then RESTARTING. I do note that Plex has failed to complete the large-task-I-had-setup, in that Plex 'imported' (if that is the correct word) only a small number of the large number of photos (500 or so) I wanted to display.
I am using a Desktop Computer with Windows 10 and Internet Explorer. My Personal Cloud is a Seagate 3TB. My Router is a new Linksys EA6900/AC1900.
My questions are:
(a) do other users of Plex also find that successful launching is intermittent, and somewhat unpredictable? Have you found a way to over come this?
(b) is there a limit to the number of photo-files that Plex can import at one time? Does Plex freeze if the number chosen for import is too large?
Thanks for your assistance. SWA
