Where do I get the app?!?

Plex lost connection to NAS

Hello folks, first thank you all for support us by this awsome product.

So, after to update Plex to the last version (1.7.5.4035) my devices like TV/tablet/phone has been lost a connection with the server several times during the day. Only rebooting the NAS i can see Plex server again with no problems. And sometimes, even after the restart the server, i have to restart plex services to work.

You guys have any idea if we have problems with this update? Because i can see this situation only after the update. Before that i never see problems...

Thanks in advance.

My NAS - Seagate Personal Cloud 3TB, last version firmware (4.3.16.0) and hardare (n090103).

Rodrigo

Difficulty Enabling Remote Access with Plex Running on Seagate Personal Cloud

I'm hoping the geniuses on this forum can help with a nagging problem. My plex is currently set up with identical libraries (I add the same files to both) connected to a 4TB external hard drive and a 5TB seagate personal cloud (SRN21C). I use the personal cloud when I am on my home network and I use the 4TB external when I am away from home, but it requires having my laptop and plugging in the hard drive in order for Plex to be able to find the port. What I would like to do remove the need for the 4TB external hard drive and enable remote access to the seagate personal cloud, with my assumption being that after remote access is configured I could access that library outside of my home network without needing the 4TB external hard drive. I have the "Your server is signed in to Plex, but is not reachable from outside your network," message and have followed the troubleshooting information to allow access through my home router (manually specifying the port), but that didn't work. Is anyone aware of specific instructions that would allow me to enable remote access to the Seagate Personal Cloud or has anyone had success with what I'm trying to do and can walk me through it?

No link for App Manager in Dashboard?

I am using a 4TB personal cloud updated to latest version. But there is no app manager link in my dashboard. On the welcome login screen there is no login as admin option. Why did seagate make this so hard?

Plex is literally the worst

I have a Seagate Homecloud with Plex server downloaded on it. I use it exclusively for my movies/Plex. Not sure why I am paying for Plex - it can never find the server, whenever there's an update available, everything stops working. Its 2017 - things should just work. The forums are absolutely no help, and I can never find answers on how to get things working. PLEASE someone from Plex get a hold of me, or let me know how I can CALL AND SPEAK TO SOMEONE, otherwise my subscription is canceled. Can't stand it anymore.

Version 1.4.xxx update issues !!

Hello Plex support team ! Everything was working perfectly on 1.3.xxx version, after updating to 1.4.xxx I started receiving the message saying my server is not powerful enough and blahblah. What I have found out is that in my case the problem is when Plex try to transcode due to subtitle usage. As I use SRT subtitles, I went to the setting "Burn Subtitle" and moved from "Always" (it seems to be the default as I've never to set it before) to "Only image formats" and surprise... it worked as it used to do before updating ! The "automatic" option does not work as well as "Always". Please Plex Team check it out !

Backup Seagate Personal Cloud

I am running a 3TB Seagate Personal Cloud NAS with PLEX Server for more than a year, the server is not very powerful but is working OK for my needs. Last month i bought a second Seagate Personal Cloud unit, the new device is working and all files are synced correctly.

Plex server is running on both devices, but i can not backup the Plex library from one device to make a copy on the second (backup) unit. All video and music files are copied to the second device in the same folder structure, i only need to copy and update periodically the Plex database.

Anyone knows how to access the Plex library database to make a backup in the Seagate Personal Cloud.

I ask the Seagate support about how to access the device with SSH, by they did not help, and tell me that Plex app is from a third party and so they can not help me. I only want a way to access to the NAS root files, but Seagate support did not help with that.

Regards.

remote access not working

I did an update like a month ago, and ever since then my remote access isn't working - people who are on my "friends" list can't access any of my media. It works fine on my end though. I attached a picture of what I am seeing in settings

.

The weird thing is, is that nothing has changed except the update. I didn't switch modems or routers or anything, and for whatever reason, it's not working. Plex server is on a 3TB Seagate Personal Cloud. It is directly hooked up to my router. Can someone tell me what I should do, or point me in the right direction? Thanks

Hi,
I have installed the latest spk of Plex on my Synology NAS.
It runs perfectly. I have added Music library section by adding network address of my music folder on Seagate Personalcloud.
However, after scanning the location Plex server does not see any content.
How can I solve this?
Thank you.

Constant Streaming errors

First timer here, so bear with me...

I have been running a Plex server on my iMac, and using a 3TB external HDD to store my content. It has worked very well for the past 2 years. I decided i wanted to upgrade my setup, and added a 4-bay Seagate NAS to my network, and picked up a Mac-Mini with the sole purpose of it running the Plex server. I have two 4TB HDD's running Raid1, and i transferred all my content over to the NAS. Now, when I stream content from the NAS, the movies and TV shows will time-out with a "network error" about every 5-10 minutes of attempting to watch something.

Any idea what is happening? The Mac Mini is hardwired to my network, and the NAS is obviously hardwired to the network as well. The NAS is simply a storage device, while the Mac Mini is doing the transcoding (at least that is how I understand it). What could be causing the movies and tv shows to not stream as well as they did on my iMac with a external HDD attached?

Seagate Personal Cloud - Unclaimed server

$

Hi everyone,
Ive been a member for a while and not really needed to ask for help until now.

I have recently (about 1 month) changed to a Seagate Personal Cloud - yes I know its not good for transcoding but I don't need it for that.
Anyway, I digress - up until this morning everything was fine and it was working as it should, all my TV's etc could access my content.

However today when logging in to the Plex App via the Seagate device it takes me straight to my library but I'm not logged in, it is showing an unclaimed server in Settings - general

So I have now tried to log in and to click on claim server - neither works

Basically I am getting stuck in an endless Login loop - see image below

I also note that this - see image

click on that and it thinks about before bringing me straight back to the same screen.

Am I going nuts or something?

If I Log in via the Web it doesn't show the server at all where yesterday it did.

I am pretty sure I haven't changed anything since yesterday - so now I am asking you guys and girls if you've any idea?

Ive attached the logs in case that sheds any light.

I'm pretty PC literate and can normally work out what the hell is going on but today I'm getting frustrated with it.

Any help would be massively appreciated

Thanks

Kind Regards

Shep

None of the content from my Seagate drive is showing up on my Plex

None of the content from my Seagate drive is showing up on my Plex - I can see all of the content on the drive - I create the library it looks like it is updating but then nothing comes across to plex. Does anyone have any idea why that might be?

macOS High Sierra Browsers and Plex Player cannot find local Seagate ARMv7 NAS Plex Server

$

After upgrading to macOS High Sierra, I can no longer access my PMS -- neither on Safari/Chrome nor the Plex Player app. The UI says "Looking for Servers..." like forever. But I can access it from iOS safari and iOS Plex app.

I have upgraded everything to the latest version, as well as resetting the Plex Player app and clearing caches in browsers, but it didn't help.

My PMS is running on a ARMv7 Seagate NAS.

Is there anything I should do to resolve this? Thanks!

Unsure if I am able to transcode at all with this NAS and if not how can I make things work.

I have a seagate NAS setup on a home network, streaming wirelessly to Amazon Fire TV stick. It appears that the Seagate is unlikely to be able to do any transcoding, maybe none at all, I don't really know how to tell. So I am having the 'not powerful enough' error. Is there something in particular causing this that I can work around? I can't find a pattern to the files that give this error and the files that don't. Also, I have trouble with subtitles. Are subtitles something that is always going to require transcoding? Is there a route that will work best? My head is spinning.

Would a NAS work okay as an external hard drive?

I have a Seagate personal cloud NAS and it works well for now. I'm avoiding most transcoding issues by only using .MP4 files, and going with 720p instead of 1080p.

Some movies just will not play in the same format as others will and I don't have a good understanding yet of what the problem is.

I might be replacing my laptop soon and thought that I could use the i7 core to do any work I need which is almost certainly powerful enough to transcode anything I have. So if I ran Plex on my laptop instead of the app on the server, and only used the Seagate as an external HD to the laptop, like this:

TV <-(HDMI)-- Roku ... Wireless Router <-(cat5)-- laptop running Plex <-(HDMI)-- Seagate

... would that work better than running the Plex app on the Seagate?

Trouble accessing my NAS all of a sudden...

So I was watching PLEX and uploading files to the server at the same time. All of a sudden the video was having issues keeping up so i turned off PLEX and let my file transfer finish then rebooted the NAS. All of my files are there and PLEX says its running but the apps and the server access fail to connect. Just wondering where to start as I tried updating the PLEX server app and all the basic stuff I can think of other than uninstalling and just wanted to see if anyone had any ideas before I did that (which I assume will lose data? Not sure since Ive never uninstalled it before).

How do I add bundles to the Plug-ins folder

$

I followed the directions in the Plug-ins Tutorial post. Even though I use sudo ... I can not write to the directory.
As seen in another post, I called Seagate and they said there is no password for root. Seems strange that they say they support Plex, but won't let you add bundles. I'm trying to add the HDHomeRun Viewer Bundle.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Can't Download off Seagate Personal Cloud

I have my Plex server running on my Seagate Personal Cloud. My movie library is currently in a private folder on the NAS. Currently, it doesn't seem like I can find any settings or options to allow my personal cloud to give access to Plex remotely so any downloads from the app remotely won't actually download any movies or files.
