I used to try and set up a plex server on my PC but unfortunately ditched (over a year ago) it as I had numerous disconnects when trying to use the remote app on my android phone and surface pro, did plenty of the fixes and workarounds with no luck. I really want to go back to using Plex and have the ability to stream/download any music from my library when away (or even at home).
I was looking at purchasing the seagate personal cloud and moving all 500+ gigs of music onto it as well as some movies and photos. the music is my main concern.
Is this a good solution to be able to have computer turned off and still be able to remotely (off home network) stream or download music?
I have read many issues with the transcoding of videos and what not. If I'm at home and have the videos on the seagate drive will there still be transcoding issues going to TV over plex, or is this a remote issue?
